Massachusetts is one of the more expensive place to live in the country but where are the most expensive places to buy a home in the state? A few local towns have made the list of the state’s most expensive places to call home. Looking at data from MLS Property Information Network for the first half of 2014, Weston is the most expensive town in the state with an average selling price of a home at $1,629,669.
The city of Boston came in at number four with an average selling price of $1,110,721.
Other local towns making the list:
Brookline made the top ten with an average sale price of $960,936. Right behind Brookline at number 11 is Newton with an average home sale price of $932,660. Needham placed 14th in the state, the average sale price in Needham $849,803.
Taken into account for the data was that towns had at least 25 sales in the first half of 2014, and the data includes all sales (single family, condos and multi family homes).
